Manos Del Uruguay has to be our favourite yarn. Not only because of the quality of the products and the visual appeal, but because of the story behind the yarn.
The Manos Cooperatives were founded in 1968, begun by five women whose goal was to develop economic opportunities for women in a country where there were, and are still, few opportunities for work. To this day, Manos continues to provide small local business with opportunity, now employing over 350 local artisans throughout Uruguay.
With each purchased skein of Manos del Uruguay yarn you will be helping a woman to support her family. This is very much in line with our philosophy; "Knit Well", providing well-being for not only yourself, but for those around the world.
